steve robinson
Your host and Professional Hunter was born in 1956 in England. Steve started hunting Africa in 1980 and gained his first Professional Hunting Licence in 1990 when he also formed Kuduland Safaris. He trained originally under Vivian L Good and later with Ian Goss the principal examiner of Professional Hunters in Kwa Zulu Natal. Steve has hunted professionally in 6 African countries and has an excellent knowledge of African flora and fauna. Over the years, he has developed a comprehensive and ongoing understanding of animal behaviour, wildlife management, ecology, game capture and of course, big game hunting, rifles & ballistics.
He writes for a selection of hunting magazines in the US, UK & Europe and co-wrote the Kuduland Safaris (Africa) Ltd Handy Little Hunting Book with Susan Robertson.
His laid back attitude to safari life means he never puts pressure on his clients to take any shot with which they are not entirely contented. He likes to adopt the attitude of, if you’re not happy with the shot then we’ll always find another opportunity. Steve has a great belief in ethical hunting practices. He hunts as hard as the client is comfortable with and is happy to walk all day, every day if necessary. He has extensive experience of hunting all of the Big 5 and his favourite quarry species is cape buffalo followed closely by the cats and elephants. He is a great believer in the old adage of ‘get as close as you can and then get 10 yards closer’ and the closest shot at buffalo taken by one of his clients to date is just 4 yards! 20 – 30 yards is more usual though. Steve prefers his clients to do all the shooting themselves - his idea of a great safari is when he doesn’t have to use his rifle at all. He has a love of hunting the true wilderness areas of Africa and especially enjoys hunting with parents & children together.
He respects his client’s opinions and will always discuss the hunting strategy with them and listen to their suggestions and is always willing to try new ideas. There is nothing he enjoys more than hunting with his clients as part of a team, where they are involved in every aspect of their hunt.
Steve is also a keen wildlife photographer and likes to use those same hunting skills to get close to his subjects for dramatic effect and has sold many images to various books and magazines, he’s also an avid fisherman and amateur light aircraft pilot and is notorious for his jokes and sense of humour. His personal rifle is a .500 Jeffery custom built for him by Sabi Rifles in South Africa.
He is dedicated to the success of your safari through his attention to detail, combined with a high standard of professionalism. He and his staff are committed to responsible, ethical hunting and to the crucial role that sport trophy-hunting plays in wildlife conservation.
Steve looks forward to sharing your hunt and campfire...

Colin has worked with us for several years and is a highly experienced Professional Hunter who qualified in Botswana under the eagle-eyed tuition of Harry Selby.
He has successfully guided many clients on plains game and dangerous game hunts. Colin’s personal favourite species to hunt are leopard, buffalo & elephant.
Colin hunts hard during the day, doing his utmost to ensure his client’s success in the species they want while not forgetting the fun element of hunting. He is a charming host and enjoys relaxing with his clients in the evenings.
Kuduland Safaris (Africa) Ltd is privileged to work with this fine Professional Hunter and we are confident all our clients will have the very best African hunting experience with Colin.

Kuduland
Safaris is privileged to have this fine young Professional Hunter on
its staff when the occasion demands. A born and bred South African,
Jason achieved his PH qualification at the tender age of 17 and consolidated
his hunting experience by heading projects in elephant translocation
and rhino and buffalo research. He then successfully managed a 38000-hectare
private game reserve while also practicing as a Professional Hunter.
He is now a full time Professional Hunter of dangerous and plains
game in southern Africa. He also has a special interest in wingshooting.
